We suggest you use our sticks, but if you have your own stick with a plastic blade, you may bring your own. The reasons for the mandatory use of plastic blades are:
- Facility Restrictions: The damage done to a hardwood gym floor by a composite or wooden blade can be pretty rough. For this reason, many facilities ban floor hockey as an activity. Fortunately for us, we're allowed, but only on the basis that we use plastic blades.
- Player Safety: Certain materials are heavier and increase the chances of injury.
- Unfair Advantage: Many players do not own expensive composite sticks, and don't have any interest in investing in one. If some did use these sticks, and some didn't, there would be a significant disadvantage for those who don't, which isn't fun.
